I was referred to Krishinda whilst searching for a midwife who could assist me during my home birth. I didn’t even feel the need to look any further after our first meeting, as I vibed with her immediately.
Between her and her network of professionals I felt truly supported with pre natal care that I was comfortable with (not being forced or bullied to do certain medical things I was uncomfortable with either in the name of “standard procedure” or because of my age (I’m 40)). In fact, I felt empowered through my prenatal care. They also helped me register at my CAP which was a huge hurdle for me before.
During my actual birth the support I felt was exactly what I needed. Krishinda knew when to step in, and help me believe in myself. She would hold my face in her hands and look me directly in the eyes, reminding me that I “got this” and that I am a goddess. Her belief in me would make me forget that just a moment before I was crying “I can’t do this!” Her instincts knew when suggesting for me to change positions would be beneficial and help push the delivery forward. I felt safe, loved and cared for; truly supported during my labor and afterwards.
Now I’m in the postnatal care part and I’ve been happy with the support I’ve continued to receive. She’s done home visits for baby and answers my text questions promptly. I once again feel supported and not alone. I truly feel blessed and grateful to have had the birth experience that I had, and that is largely due to Krishinda, her wisdom and her caring.
